Bioarchaeological Analysis of Skeletal Remains from Nadin Necropolis

This contribution presents the results of bioarchaeological analysis human skeletal remains from excavations at Nadin necropolis, focusing on reconstruction population demographics and pathological conditions. site has represented a methodological challenge for traditional individual-level analyses because primary architectural unit in parcela, contain commingled fragmentary elements with evidence repeated use, multiple inhumations, cremations. Therefore, landmark-based methods determination MNI have been applied 2013 2015 excavations. allowed more accurate construction demographic profile combination estimates previous reports. The minimum number individuals combined previously published within space delineated as parcela (“cela”) 1 (n=45), is estimated to be 196. These data also show higher count subadult (51%, n=99), compared reports other Iron Age sites region. Based paleodemographic evaluations connections among younger age cohorts collections, fertility, size, high infant child mortality suggest growth.
